AT THE END OF NOVEMBER 2010, SPANBETON DELIVERED AND INSTALLED THE BEAMS FOR THE BRIDGE OVER THE WILHELMINA CANAL IN TILBURG.
The engineered structure consists of two identical bridges parallel to each other that are made up of three spans.
Because the beams at the intermediate support points could only be supported on three columns and not on a continuous supporting beam, the Spanbeton®-4P system developed by Spanbeton was used. By using transverse prestressing at the intermediate support points of the bridge/viaduct intelligently, supporting beams were no longer necessary. At the location of the columns, the bridge deck was provided with extra internal reinforcement and transversely prestressed in concentration.
